Young Indian wicket keeper batsman and the skipper of Delhi Capitals Rishabh Pant got emotional in remembrance of his father late Rajendra Pant who passed away in 2017 due to a cardiac arrest. Pant scored a fifty in IPL two days after the demise of his father in 2017.

“He loved me for who I was and accepted me for who I was striving to become. Dads are strong for a reason. Their strength gives us a sense of protection. Now that you are in heaven dad, I know you will continue to protect me. Thanks for being my dad. I will always love and miss you until we meet again,” Pant mentioned in his post on Sunday.

Rishabh Pant has been a star for India behind the stumps with the gloves and with the bat in hand. He has taken India to glory on the Australian soil and is one of the finest wicketkeeper batsman at present.
Pant has been integral part of the Delhi Capitals sqaud since his debut 2016. He too over the captaincy after the injury of Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2021 and lead the team to Play offs. He was announced as the captain of the team for 2022 edition of IPL after the team retained him ahead of the IPL auction.
Rishabh Pant’s aggressive approach and his fearless batting is what made him a star. Pant has scored 2542 runs in his IPL career at a strike rate of 147.4. The aim for Pant will be to lift the IPL trophy which has been eluding the franchise for 14 long years. Delhi Capitals qualified for the playoffs in the last three seasons but failed to win the final and the trophy.
