The American rapper, Pusha T, has opened up about Kanye West’s recent controversial remarks. The artists have collaborated before on multiple projects including Pusha’s latest album, It’s Almost Dry.

The rapper shared that Kanye’s comments have affected him and described it as “disappointing”. He further expressed that there is no room for hate speech, as a black man in America. Pusha T continued, “So yeah. It’s been very disappointing.”

The Yeezy co-founder made controversial comments about antisemitism after he wore a controversial “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at Paris Fashion Week. Following that, many artists stepped away from Kanye.

Pusha T was asked about his feelings regarding Kanye’s demeanor and how it has affected him. He further explained that he respected Kanye as an artist. The rapper revealed that Ye meant freedom to him. Pusha continued how Ye has never asked him to change anything and saw him for who he is.

The rapper also added that both he and Kanye have similar tastes. He shared, “He would tell me things like, ‘Man, you just be the extreme version of yourself. And I’m gonna be the extreme version of myself.’”

Pusha T collaborated with Kanye for the G.O.O.D. label through Def Jam Recordings back in 2010. Kanye further brought Pusha in for his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’s Runaway the same year. Meanwhile, even West contributed to Pusha’s albums including Daytona, and, My Name is My Name.

Kanye has received tremendous backlash for his antisemitic views which he shared various times.
