Producer Madhu Mantena To Cast Deepika Padukone In Drama Film Ramayana, Mahabharat On A Pause

Producer Madhu Mantena has previously announced his collaboration with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone in 2019. The project was about the tale of Mahabharat. The producer wanted that the story they will make should be shown through Draupadi’s eyes.

However, for a long while then, there were no updates about the same. Now, speaking to one of the entertainment tabloids in the country, Madhu has confirmed that he and Deepika are working together but there are slight changes. It is going to be Ramayana first which they will make.

Why The Change In Plans?

Madhu said these sort of things take a lot of time and they do not want to come out as irresponsible. Madhu and Deepika agreed to make Mahabharat from Draupadi’s point of view because they want people to understand who Draupadi was.

The producer also added that there is a lot of research being done in the background and they have already reached the process of final drafting of the scripts for screenplay.

Delayed Project

Madhu Mantena went on to talk about why it takes them so much time and said that various nuances are being worked on. He also added that Deepika is not making this film because she is an actress sin the industry and its her job; she does it because they both have a strong sense that it is a good story to be told from Draupadi’s point of view.

He concluded that they are working hard to put everything together and that this type of project requires a lot of time. He also believes that the responsibilities which they are carrying to create a world that have not been seen before is huge and can’t be made so early.

Announcement of the full list of cast members for the anticipated drama film will be made in Diwali or around that time at the latest.
