Priyanka Chopra opened up about her married life with Nick Jonas as they got married back in 2018. She talked about how it took a global pandemic for them to be able to spend time together.
The actress opened up in an interview with Marie Claire as she is the cover star. She looked beautiful in different shades of pink for the photoshoot. The Quantico alum talked about how the pandemic has slowed down the pace of their very hectic work schedules.
She said both of their schedules were crazy and there was no world where they would have six months together. The actress said, “Both of our schedules are so crazy individually that there was no world in which we would have ever had six months together. It only took a global pandemic for that to happen.”
Priyanka also shared how they do not see Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner as often as the world thinks they do. She explained that whenever they end up together it is a huge party as it includes all their parents, “the girls and their boys”.
The actress also admitted that she does read stuff about her on the internet. She shared that she is just like everyone else and she goes through it in the morning or while driving to work. The Baywatch star shared, “I’m flipping through Twitter, Instagram, the news, and when my name pops up, I’m like, ‘Alright, what are people saying? How are we feeling?’ I just don’t react to it or let it affect my mental well-being.”
“When you pick on someone, it’s because you’re insecure”
Priyanka was looking stunning in a hot pink cardigan as she paired it with a slinky midi skirt. The actress has been vocal about how she has been subject to racism and bullying while she was younger. She shared how the bullying as a child made her feeling raw and exposed.
“In high school, I feel like the kids who were after me didn’t even understand why. I think it’s that they decided that they were more powerful than someone else—me—and when you pick on someone, it’s because you’re insecure,” she shared.
The actress further discussed how bullying happens to kids and adults alike. She said that it happens with positions of power and we have all seen that happen in different ways. The Quantico alum shared how it has affected her adversely as it impacted her confidence and who she wanted to be. She said, “It affected me adversely. It affected my confidence; it affected who I wanted to be. I felt exposed when your skin is raw.”
Further talking about her growth as a person, the actress explained for that girl who was scared, she is proud of the person she is at the moment. She discussed that she has dealt with a lot and came out thriving. The actress said, “I want little girls around the world to think about that. It doesn’t matter where you come from; it doesn’t matter what your circumstances are. Your grit matters, your ambition matters, your perseverance matters.”
