There is no doubt that Jayson Tatum has established himself as one of the best young forwards in the league. He is well renowned for his scoring and shot creation, but his defense is also very sound, as he is capable of guarding 4 positions. Currently, Jayson Tatum is averaging 26.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 4.8 APG.
The future for Jayson Tatum certainly looks very promising. He has already gotten to the Eastern Conference Finals in his very young career. Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce, while talking to NBA Radio, claimed that Jayson Tatum has all the makings to become the greatest Celtics of all time.
Paul Pierce said, “That kid is special, man… You look at the numbers, but if you actually watch his game, he’s as smooth as it comes when scoring the ball…This guy is special. I really believe he’s going to win a championship in Boston and end up one of the greatest if not the greatest Celtic to ever play this game. He has that type of potential… He’s got everything.”
That is some very high praise from Paul Pierce for the young exciting talent of Jayson Tatum. But this certainly brings high expectations with it. Especially considering the fact that the Boston Celtics have a lot of all-time greats that have played for the franchise such as Larry Bird and Bill Russell. However, Jayson Tatum will definitely have a productive career in the league, and he has a chance to be a Celtics legend by the time he retires.
Jayson is already an elite scorer and a proven match winner. On top of that he shown signs that he is very capable of leading a competitive team. Hopefully, we see Jayson Tatum continue getting better. The Boston Celtics are currently the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-28 record under his leadership. Perhaps we’ll see Jayson Tatum and the Celtics ruffle some feathers in the playoffs, and there is even a chance they could make the Finals.
