Nike has always been at the forefront of sneaker design and innovation, and their Dunk Low line is no exception. The past three years have seen Nike release a wide range of Dunk Low sneakers in every colorway and iteration imaginable, much to the delight of fans of the line. And it seems like the good times are set to continue, as the company is reportedly working on a new version of the ‘UNLV’ Dunk Low, which is sure to be a hit with sneakerheads.
The new ‘UNLV’ Dunk Low is a throwback to the 1985 colorways and features a two-tone color block design. However, this time around, Nike has swapped out the traditional leather for a luxurious satin finish. This new look is based on the retro from 2020, which borrows its color scheme from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
This particular colorway is considered an original Dunk colorway, with the High version being part of the ‘Be True to Your School’ pack from the 1980s. The base of this new pair is Medium Grey with Varsity Red overlays, complemented by crisp white midsoles.
This isn’t the first time an iconic combo has received a plush makeover either. Back in 2018, the ‘Shattered Backboard’ Air Jordan 1s were given a similar treatment, proving that there is still a market for this style of sneaker.
There has been no official release date for the Nike Dunk Low ‘UNLV’, but with the recent leak of product shots, fans can expect them to land in stores sometime soon. If you’re a fan of the Dunk Low line or just a fan of retro sneakers, keep your eyes peeled for this new release from Nike.
