Nick Jonas, Doja Cat, H.E.R., Migos & DJ Khaled Open The 2021 BBMAs With Epic Performances
The 2021 BBMAs have already started out with the most epic performances. DJ Khaled, H.E.R. and Migos kicked off the award ceremony by giving us performances with their new hits, WE GOING CRAZY.
After the very thrilling performance to the fans outside the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the night’s host, Nick Jonas introduced the show. He assured the viewers that the in-person awards are taking place in strict COVID protocols. “It is no secret that this last year has been an insane roller coaster ride,” he noted, “but how great is it to be back together again?”
Obviously, there were more epic performances lined up as Nick introduced Doja Cat and SZA who took the stage and gave a colourful performance. The duo performed their hit song, Kiss Me More. Before the show started, the host teased few surprises that fans will get to see at the BBMAs.
He shared that this is a great celebration of an amazing year of music and so many artists and great performances are lined up. The musician added, “I don’t wanna give anything away, but I’ve got a few surprises up my sleeve, might be jumping up there myself… with two other guys who happen to be my brothers.”
Nick had succumbed an injury this past week while filming something for NBC with his brothers. However, that did not stop him from hosting and performing for tonight’s Billboard Music Awards. “A fractured rib and some other bumps and bruises, but I am feeling really lucky,” Nick said. “It probably could’ve been a little worse. So all is good.”
The Billboard Music Awards 2021 is airing live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on May 23, 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
