Neymar Jr Shows Off His New $1 Million Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT

Professional Footballer of the PSG Club and Brazil National team Neymar Jr. has become the latest celebrity to join the Non-Fungible Token bandwagon. The footballer took to his official Twitter handle and revealed his latest Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT purchase.

And guess what? Neymar owns not just one but ‘TWO’ BAYC NFTs. He spent over $1 million to purchase both the NFTs in his BAYC collection.

‘I Am An Ape’

The first Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT that Neymar purchased costed him $159.99 ETH (approximately 457,571) and the second one is even more pricey. It costed Neymar 189.69 ETH (around $542,513).

The BAYC NFT collection is one of the most popular projects around. Many celebrities own the Bored Ape NFT and take pride in doing so. Even Neymar Jr. shared his purchase to the fans by posting a picture of his NFT on his Twitter handle. He has also changed the profile picture of his profile to the Bored Ape.

Apart from his latest purchase, Neymar Jr. owns NFTs such as those from the ACESnikers fashion collection, others from the Flipped BAYC, flipped CryptoPunks, and flipped Doodles.

BAYC Celebrities

Recently, Eminem also dropped $500,000 on a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT.

The Bored Ape Yatch Club (BAYC) NFTs have sold out like hot cakes among famous personalities in 2021- Jimmy Fallon, Post Malone, Stephen Curry, Logan Paul, Marshmellow, and the list goes on. The BAYC saw hundreds of millions of dollars in sales volume last year, and it’s rapidly emerging as an up-and-coming brand in the non-fungible tokens’ market, as well as bringing the craze out into the mainstream.

Meanwhile, Meta is looking into allowing users to make, promote, and sell NFTs on Facebook and Instagram. If the corporation offers such tools, it will be the most public display of support for NFTs, helping to cement the controversial asset’s place in the digital world.
