Netflix Has Reported ‘Virgin River’ for Season 4 Ahead of Season 3’s Release

Virgin River is returning to Netflix for a second season. After two swift renewals, Netflix’s feel-good sitcom Virgin River is returning for a fourth season, with filming set to begin later this summer. Since its launch on Netflix in December 2019, the show has established itself as a Netflix treasure and one of the few shows to be continuously renewed ahead of schedule.

Mel travels to a peaceful rural Northern Californian town to get away from her past life, and the show is based on Robyn Carr’s novels.

Of course, there are many elements that go into that decision, but we’ve already had both seasons 2 and 3 renewed ahead of schedule. Season 3 (which is set to premiere on July 9th, 2021 in the United States) was in the works before the second season’s debut in late November 2020. Season 4 is now in the works, according to the source behind the early renewals, with issue 1249 of ProductionWeekly (published on June 3rd, 2021) suggesting that more is on the way.

The show will be produced in Vancouver, Canada, as it has been in past seasons. It’s too early to say when season 4 of Virgin River will be released on Netflix, but given the show’s speedy renewal and filming timeline, we could see it around mid-2022, but that’s just speculation for now. We’ll probably get a season 4 peek around the same time as season 3 comes out, but until then, Virgin River’s future on Netflix looks bright.
