Muse Surprises Fans at Music Fest With Slipknot’s ‘Duality’ Cover

Muse recently amazed a crowd of fans with a cover of Slipknot’s “Duality.”

Fans of Muse received a surprise gift during the Isle of Wright Music Festival. As the outro to their own song “Won’t Stand Down,” the band covered Slipknot’s “Duality” during their headlining concert. They also included bits of “Back in Black” by AC/DC, “Know Your Enemy” by Rage Against the Machine, “Foxey Lady” by Jimi Hendrix, and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses during their performance.

This past weekend (June 16–19), the Festival featured appearances by artists like Rudimental, Kasabian, Lionel Richie, and Lewis Capaldi.

The Connection Between Muse & Slipknot

Actually, there is an ambiguous connection between Slipknot and Muse. When they both performed at Spain’s Metalfest in 2001, Corey Taylor hurled his mask into the audience at the finale of their concert. Apparently, a fan who was hanging out with Muse gave the band members the mask after catching it.

Muse released their latest track “Will of The People” including its video for the song. The track will be on the corresponding album, which is scheduled for release on August 26. Their previously released single “Compliance” will also be included on the album. Soon after the record is out, they’ll embark on a short tour of a few small venues in North America and Europe.

The performances will begin on October 4 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California. Chicago, Toronto, and The Beacon in New York are some other stops. After that, it will go to Europe, stopping in Amsterdam, Paris, and finally Milan, Italy, on October 26. On Friday, June 24, at 10 a.m. local time, tickets for the tour will go on sale.
