“Money” by Lisa of BLACKPINK Ranks As The Most-Streamed K-Pop Solo Song On Spotify This Year

Lisa continues to prove herself a successful solo artist, without having released any new solo music in over a year and despite only having been part of three songs as a solo artist. She made her official debut as a soloist in September last year, five years after she began her K-Pop journey as a BLACKPINK member. Later on, she was part of a collab single with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Recently, she became the fastest-ever K-Pop act to reach one billion streams on Spotify. In addition, both her song MONEY and her album LALISA are the most streamed K-Pop solo song and K-Pop solo album on Spotify, respectively.

There are other platforms where Lisa has established her supremacy outside Spotify. Her first single Lalisa M/V earned more than 70 million views in its first 24 hours on the site, breaking the previous record for the most views for a solo artist music video on its first day. Furthermore, Money and Lalisa both have more than 500 million YouTube views. In addition, Lisa has 85 million Instagram followers, making her the most popular K-Pop artist on the social media platform.

Even though there were a lot of new K-Pop solo releases this year, Lisa’s MONEY which was released in 2021, was still able to emerge as the most-streamed K-Pop solo song in 2022. Her song “Lalisa” also ranked as the 5th most-streamed K-Pop solo song this year.

As the FIRST soloist in history to win “Best K-Pop” at both the VMAs and the EMAs, 2022 has been a significant year for Lisa. With the release of Born Pink, the group’s second studio album this year, Lisa also made a comeback as a member of BLACKPINK. The rapper and her bandmates are currently on a globe tour.
