Molly-Mae Hague Gets Trolled On Twitter After Her Arrogant Remark About Poverty

Molly-Mae Hague has been the center of attention lately after a clip from her December interview on ‘The Diary of a CEO’ went viral!

The 22-year Love Island star found herself in hot waters after commenting about her success in a manner that the general audience found to be ‘arrogant, and tone-deaf’. But what did she say and why the backlash?

What Did Molly-Mae Hague Say?

Molly-Mae, when said that she had ‘worked her a** off’ to be where she was today and almost disregarded the situations of many who are surviving below the poverty line by adding that ‘everyone has the same 24 hours in a day to achieve’.

Her ‘privileged’ statement from the interview was just one reason why Twitter started to troll the star! The final nail in the coffin came later on and it was the old video which showed Molly-Mae being left in shock after learning that she had to work for 12-hours (from 1:00 to 1:00) at the PLT warehouse just to experience what the working conditions behind the scenes are like.

Twitter users have taken jibes at the 22-year old TV personality left, right, and center.

The Twitter Trolls

“People aren’t critiquing Molly Mae Hague’s success because she’s a woman. Her success (500k creative director deal of plt) is being critiqued because it is largely built on the backs of garment workers being paid £3.50 an hour”, one user Tweeted.

Another user took a jibe at Molly by writing “Who is Molly Mae Hague anyway? Is she one of these ‘Celebrities’ who aren’t really Celebrities?”.

“Imagine Molly Mae Hague working a 9 hour shift at macdonalds… she’d be WIPED tf out by hour 4 I guarantee yo”

“Confession – never ever heard of Molly – Mae Hague but she doesn’t sound very nice. Apparently she is a reality star on Love Island”, read another tweet amongst a flurry of trolls.

Molly-Mae Hague rose to fame after her appearance on the famous English reality show Love Island. However, the influencer has denied any association between her fame and Love Island. In the past, she has said that she didn’t need Love Island to be successful and could do it with just her ‘hard work’.

Molly Mae’s Spokesperson Responds

While she continues to face the social media trial and storm, her spokesperson has tried to calm the situation down by releasing an extended explanation about her comments. However, Twitter users are up for no sugar-coated explanations.

This is what Molly-Mae Hague’s spokesperson said:

‘Molly is not commenting on anyone else’s life or personal situation she can only speak of her own experience.

‘She acknowledges that everyone is raised in different ways and from different backgrounds but her comments here are in reference to timing, hard work and determination in her own life.’
