Cyrus, on the other hand, stated in the video that songwriting is his “biggest joy in life.” She went on to say, “It’s my favorite aspect of my work. Taking it all in and being grateful every day for the fact that I get to write songs for a living because a lot of people don’t get to write songs for a living, and I’ll never forget how fortunate I am to be one of those individuals.” According to PEOPLE, this year’s other music honorees include Jack Harlow, Olivia Rodrigo, Willow Smith, Tinashe, Giveon, and The Kid LAROI, with Cyrus serving as a judge.

The renowned singer-songwriter made her debut entry on the list with the publication of her blockbuster album Bangerz in 2014. Since then, the Hannah Montana alum has released three albums, founded the Happy Hippie Foundation, and invested in FanMade and Hers, among other businesses.

Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson will host Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson for NBC, in the meanwhile. On December 31, from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET, Peacock will broadcast the show live from Miami.
