Seems like Hulu have angered the boxer, Mike Tyson, by making a Hulu series on him without his consent. Let’s have a look at what’s the issue between the two parties.
Back in June, this year Hulu released the first look at Mike Tyson’s upcoming series which is supposed to be 8 episode series. It will feature stars like Trevante Rhodes, Russell Hornsby , Laura Harrier, Ei Eubanks and Harvy Keitel. The series is all set to release on 25th August 2022.
The series will explore the controversies and different aspects of Mike Tyson’s personal and professional life. These Hulu series have enraged the boxing legend as it’s said it’s made without his consent, also Hulu didn’t even offer him the compensation to use his life story.
On Saturday Mike Tyson took this matter to social media to badly criticize Hulu for its actions. He shared a statement on Instagram which reads, ” Don’t let Hulu fool you. I don’t support their story about my life. It’s not 1822. It’s 2022. They stole my life and didn’t pay me. To Hulu executives, I’m just a [N-word] they can sell on the auction block.”
Mike Tyson didn’t stop here, he also took this serious matter to Twitter where he called Hulu “a slave master”. He says in a post, ” Slavemaster take over a story about my life #slaveryisdead.”
In a couple of tweets, he called out Hulu for unauthorized stealing of his story and not even paying him for using it. In another tweet, he writes, ” Hulu’s model of stealing life rights of celebrities is egregiously greedy. #headswillroll”
Another tweet reads, “Hey @hulu I’m not a n****r you can sell on the auction block #slaveryisover #fuckhulu.”
Mike Tyson Thanked Dana White
Mike Tyson praised Dana White, the President of Ultimate Fighting Championship for turning down the offer made by Hulu to promote its upcoming Mike Tyson series.
Earlier this week Steven Rogers, the screenwriter addressed the issue saying, ” We actually couldn’t talk to him because his life rights were already taken, so that was never on the table. I would hope that if he watches it that he would change his opinion.”
