Miami Heat Send A Statement To The Philadelphia 76ers In Game 1

The Eastern Conference Semi-Finals sure did light up. With Giannis and the Bucks taking care of the Celtics in Game 1, the Philadelphia 76ers want to stay in the competition with James Harden being the center of a lot of controversy as he has to carry the team without Embiid. The Miami Heat have the intentions of taking advantage of Embiid’s absence.

The Miami Heat went with a starting lineup of Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Jimmy Butler, PJ Tucker and Bam Adebayo, The Philadelphia 76ers started with James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, Danny Green, obias Harris and DeAndre Jordan.

Game Summary

The Miami Heat started their scoring from the opening tip going on a 9-2 run. Bam Adebayo went on a rampage with the interior being as weak as it is. The 76ers had a really slow start. But they got into gear as soon as James Harden started being aggressive. Jimmy Butler was not going to be held back so he scored some points as well.

In the 2nd quarter, the trio of Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey and James Harden got into action with them running the offense. The Heat went on a bit of a slump. But Tyler Herro came off the bench and provided a bit of a spark to keep the Heat in the game. The Philadelphia 76ers took the lead in the end of the 1st half with a score of 51-50.

Once the 2nd half commenced, the Miami Heat put their efforts on the defensive end and took their offense from their end of the court. The 76ers had to hit the brakes as they weren’t able to get by the Heat’s defense. Tobias Harris was the only one who was putting points on the board.

The real issue was watching James Harden struggle so much against the Heat. Harden had to step up in the game and all he did was hold the 76ers back. The Heat took advantage of the 76ers weakened defense and they capitalized on it by dishing the ball to Bam Adebayo.

The 4th quarter was a mimic of the 3rd quarter with Tyler Herro going on the offensive. He handled the ball most of the quarter, scoring and dishing out assists. The 76ers could not overcome the Heat’s defense, eventually falling to them.

With the Heat’s sole focus on defense, Tyler Herro was the leading scorer with 25 points and 7 assists. Bam Adebayo took advantage of the 76ers’ weak interior defense with a double-double of 24 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block. Jimmy Butler did a little bit of everything, ending up with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

For the 76ers, Tobias Harris stepped up to the plate, leading in scoring with 27 points, 6 rebounds, an assist and a block. Tyrese Maxey struggled yet he put up 19 points and 2 assists. James Harden disappeared in the 2nd half as he just put up 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists, topping off with 5 turnovers!

The Miami Heat have bagged Game 1 with a scoreline of 106-92. With Game 2 being held in Miami, the Heat will be looking to extend their lead there. The 76ers need their coach, Doc Rivers to come up with a solution to their struggles. Most importantly, Harden needs to step up with no Embiid on the court. He has to bring his rocket days back if they want to have a chance at winning before Embiid shows up.
