MI has a chance to make amends against a spirited KKR team

Has the stinginess of the Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling attack waned? Is Jasprit Bumrah in need of additional help? Is there a gun legspinner missing from MI?

They’ve had three days to process their loss to the Rajasthan Royals, their second of the season, and there are still no easy solutions. MI were in a winning position against the Delhi Capitals, but were let down in the last overs, with Jos Buttler’s amazing century leaving them with yet another harsh cut.

Early nerves aren’t often fatal in a long tournament, but MI will be fully aware that they have a number of concerns to address. Ishan Kishan’s flair at the top of the order and Tilak Varma’s potential have given the side a foundation to build on, but finishing has been a concern in the previous two encounters. Kieron Pollard and Tim David have yet to make an impact, and the match against Kolkata Knight Riders may be the perfect time to do so.

KKR, too, has difficulties to work out, but two wins in three games has given them the upper hand. KKR wants its hitters to be aggressive, which might be the difference between Bumrah and Co. Brendon McCullum stated that he wants his batters to “add a little bit of craft” to their approach in order to reap more benefits. Pat Cummins’ addition might assist KKR. Umesh Yadav has been prolific, and the arrival of Pat Cummins could aid KKR.

Can MI bounce back?

The big question is can Mumbai Indians(MI) bounce back after their bizzare start to this year’s campaign. There have been few positives that they can take into count from the first two matches. Their bowling is a sign of concern for Mumbai as Bumrah has been the lone limelight in the bowling department. The team doesn’t have a wrist or a leg spinner who has the ability to turn the game in the middle overs. It’s interesting to see how they go about it in the game vs KKR.

KKR 7-22 MI in the Indian Premier League. The last time these two teams played, KKR won by seven wickets in Abu Dhabi last year.
