Melissa McCarthy Shares Empowering Note She Wrote To Herself Years Ago

Melissa McCarthy’s younger self is giving out some excellent life advice to her older self. The actress recently shared a note on Instagram that she had written to herself “years ago”.

In the note, there was a list of reminders which was written in purple marker on a white sheet of paper. The note began, “To Me,” as it listed various reminders. She had the first reminder which told her she will not remember “his name” in ten years. The second reminder to herself was that it is okay to cry.

It continued on to read, “For the love of God — buy both pairs of shoes.” The next reminder pleaded with herself to listen to that little voice inside her head. While the other reminders read, “A walk of shame can be character building. Call Mom. Just eat the damn cookie!!”

She concluded her list of reminders as she urged herself to go all in because she will never get today back again. Melissa wrote in the caption that she found this note that she wrote to herself years ago and that it still stands.

Back in February, the actress had talked about her outlook on life in an interview. She talked about how boring it will be if everybody was the same as she shared that we are drawn to each other because of our quirks. The actress said, “How boring would it be if we were all the same? We’re drawn to each other because of all our weird, unexplainable character quirks. Life is short. Just be yourself!”

“I tell them it’s all silly and we’re all idiots!”

Melissa shares daughter Vivian and Georgette with husband Ben Falcone. She also discussed how her kids drive her mission to spread positivity and self-confidence. The actress shared that her oldest has a really good head on her shoulders. She said, “My oldest has a really good head on her shoulders, but kids that age are always thinking, ‘Does someone think I look silly?’ I tell them it’s all silly and we’re all idiots!”

The actress shared that the second one embraces that and has real friends, they would realize that is the fun part. She said, “Who is the dumbest and the goofiest? Those are the friends you’ll have all your life.” The actress recently had an opportunity to work with one of her own lifelong friends, Octavia Spencer. They worked together on their recent venture, Thunder Force.

She had written in a caption for a post that she is still best friends with Octavia after 20+ years. The actress wrote, “After 20+ years, I’m #stillbestfriends with the incredible @octaviaspencer and I wouldn’t have it any other way ❤️” The Thunder Force actress had shared a photo of herself and Octavia embracing at her wedding.

“Who is your bestie?” McCarthy added in the caption for the post, which was part of a #stillbestfriends campaign to promote her Netflix movie with Spencer. “Did you know them the pre-cell phone so half your photos are old disposables?”
