Megan Thee Stallion (Megan Pete), a rapper, just inked a first-look contract with Netflix to develop and create content. At only 26 years old, the artist has achieved tremendous success through her music and has only grown in popularity in recent years. Pete has made her love of film and tv clearly known throughout her career.
Pete’s Netflix deal just highlighted this. According to Collider, the artist will be developing and producing a number of projects for the streaming service, including a television series and other content. The star seemed to be thrilled about the partnership.
“I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix, venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch.”
Netflix is also excited about the deal. Pete’s talent and impact on the arts have been recognized by Netflix’s head of humor (Tracey Pakosta). There hasn’t been much said about the kinds of items Pete will create. Pakosta’s advice, on the other hand, could suggest that some of it will be funny. Pete’s love for anime and horror has been emphasized numerous times, with Pete’s passion for film and television being the most apparent.
This isn’t the first time the artist has worked on a film-related project; in 2019, he created and starred in the horror series Hottieween. Pete has shown her dedication to the topics she cares about by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in health management (which she recently completed) in addition to her music and writing careers.
Megan Thee Stallion revealed in August 2020 that she was working on a horror screenplay. There hasn’t been any more information provided about that project as of yet. There’s also no news on what other Netflix content she’ll make, so it’s possible that this horror script from 2020 will be one of them.
