The Milwaukee Bucks faced off against the Dallas Mavericks for the 2nd time this season. The Bucks won their last meeting. Coming into this game was a must win for both teams not for seeding purposes but for keeping their morale high for the upcoming playoffs.

The Mavericks went with a roster of Luka Doncic, Jalen Brunson, Dwight Powell, Reggie Bullock and Dorian Finney Smith. The Buck started with their championship caliber roster of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez and Wesley Matthews.

Game Summary

The game started with sparks flying on the court. The two aces Giannis and Luka locked horns as they went into it. Giannis was attacking the paint and on the other hand Luka was shooting 3s and making plays for his team. The 1st half ended with a 57-55 lead for the Dallas Mavericks.

In the 2nd half, Holiday took over for a while as he was shooting 3s and making shot after shot. But Doncic soon took matter into his own hands and feeding the ball to Dwight Powell, who surprisingy had a really good outing. The Mavericks took a 10 point lead in the end of the 4th quarter and the Bucks could not recover due to which they lost the match.

Giannis had a good outing as he put up 28 points and 10 rebounds in the game. Jrue Holiday supported Giannis with him putting up 20 points and 9 assists in the game. Bobby Portis came off the bench and gave 17 points and 8 rebounds in the game. The disappointment in the game was Khris Middleton who could not get it going in the game as he just scored 11 points but he did dish 9 assists in the game.

In the Mavericks, Luka Donicic shouldered the responsibility as he put up 32 points, 15 assists and 8 rebounds. Dwight Powell took the paint with Luka’s help as he put up 22 points and 13 rebounds. Sharpshooters, Reggie Bullock and Jalen Brunson shot 3s, putting up 16 and 15 points respectively.

The Mavericks took the game with a 118-112 win over the Bucks. This win was crucial for the Mavericks as they defeated the defending champions which boosted their morale. The Bucks are not worried of the loss as they know they will be able to take on any team. The issue is consistency and if their 2nd and 3rd scoring option fall off then they are in trouble.
