Mariah Carey Brings Christmas Cheer With Ariana Grande, Tiffany Hadish & More

Mariah Carey is bringing us some holiday cheer as this year comes to an end. The singer released a trailer for her upcoming Christmas production called Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special.

This would be perfect for everyone as this year has been quite difficult for everybody in different ways. The show will be available exclusively for Apple TV+ subscribers. It is set to premiere on December 4 with Sony Pictures Television. The venture becomes even more special as Tiffany Haddish opens up a book and narrates a story.

The show also seems to have included coronavirus in it as the trailer shows a snowman wearing a mask next to a closed sign. Tiffany says that Santa decided the season could not be merry without Mariah Carey.

“I’ve got a great story to tell ya,” narrator Tiffany says while opening a book. “‘Twas the night before Christmas and 2020 had been wrecked, so Santa decided that season couldn’t be merry, without the one and only Mariah Carey.”

The Fantasy singer adds: ‘This season, we could all use a little magic’ before dropping a curtain and revealing a snowy village landscape full of dancers, twirlers, and candy canes as her 1994 standard All I Want for Christmas Is You begins to play.

Tiffany was not the only artist we will get to see, the show also includes Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson. The duo will be performing with Mariah on the song Oh Santa! The song will be released the same day the show premieres as the three beautiful singers sing the 2010 track.

The show will also feature Billy Eichner and Snoop Dog, as Billy is seen as an elf while the rapper is playing Santa Claus. The Christmas special also includes ballerina Misty Copeland and Mariah’s former producer Jermaine Dupri and the Peanuts Gang.

The show is directed by Hamish Hamilton, who has also been a longtime Super Bowl halftime show director. Along with him will be Roman Coppola, who was the co-writer for the Moonrise Kingdom. The soundtrack will be released exclusively through Apple Music on the same date as the special’s release and will receive a wide release on December 11.

The show will basically consist of Mariah’s 2010 album’s new rendition. Along with that, Leroy Anderson’s 1948 piece Sleigh Ride will also be featured on the soundtrack to the special.
