Madcap Moss Is The New Challenger For Gunther’s WWE Intercontinental Title

At the “WWE SmackDown” on February 10 in Uncasville, Connecticut, Madcap Moss became the new front-runner for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship. In the show’s final Fatal 4-Way match, Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, and Karrion Kross were defeated, giving Moss the chance to challenge “The Ring General” for the championship in the future.

When Mysterio hit a 619 on Kross towards the end of the bout, Escobar and Moss both recovered on the outside, giving the impression that Mysterio had the upper hand. Right on schedule, Scarlett saved the day by trippin’ the iconic luchador, and Escobar came back to the ring to clothesline Kross. With Emma, his real-life girlfriend, Moss celebrated his victory in the ring.

The victory was hailed as Moss’ biggest in the WWE, and it was also acknowledged that he had earned his young career’s first opportunity to compete for a title. With a string of televised victories following his battle with Baron Corbin, which he culminated with a successful No Holds Barred Match at Hell in a Cell 2022, Moss appeared to be in a position for a major push last year under the Vince McMahon regime.

GUNTHER vs. Moss

However, once Paul “Triple H” Levesque took over the creative operations of WWE, Moss appeared to get lost in the mix on the “SmackDown” brand, appearing in just three matches from September 2022 to January 2023. Moss may once again be viewed as a key component of the WWE’s blue brand programme, it seems. The GUNTHER vs. Moss championship contest has been officially announced by WWE for the upcoming show. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Shotzi & Natalya and The Banger Bros.

(Drew McIntyre & Sheamus) vs. The Viking Raiders are two other fights that have been announced for the Elimination Chamber go-home show. Madcap Moss believes he has arrived at the right place at the right time. The WWE Superstar recently was asked how he thinks his character will fare under Chief Content Officer Triple H’s new creative direction. I think it’s actually good timing because, naturally, it fits quite well with what Triple H likes, said Moss.
