What Was The Admission Scandal About?
Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli both were involved in the admission controversy. Not just them but many influential personalities and high profile parents were a part of this controversy.
It started in the year 2019 , there was a college consultancy who use to ask for big payments from parents for undergraduate admissions to get them in the most elite universities. Lori Loughlin & her fashion designer husband too paid an amount of $500k for their 2 daughters admission , Isabella & Olivia Jade. They wanted to get their daughters in University of Southern California.
This racket was run by William Singer, in which many high profile parents were caught paying him. Their daughters were falsely recruited as crew team members to get in the college even though they were never really into sports and it was all a part of the racket so that they could get in.
Due to all this matter, Lori and her husband had to spend few months in jail for being involved in this racket. Lori was sentenced 2 months in jail and Giannulli for 5 months. Lori had to pay fine of $150k and had to do community service of 150 hours. Whereas her husband was fined $250k and community service of 250 hours.
After she completed her sentence, she did a series called When Hope calls. The DesignCare event was the first one that she attended after the admission controversy.
