There will be a wrestling match between Seth Rollins and Logan Paul. The stars are aligned for them to resolve their disagreements at this year’s WrestleMania, whether it be due to the several complaints Seth Rollins has with Paul personally or Paul interfering at Elimination Chamber and the Royal Rumble to cost Rollins.
Although their conflict has developed smoothly since January, Rollins might not have been the first option for Paul’s WrestleMania foe. The original plan, according to the rumours, was for Paul to square off against none other than John Cena in April. Paul publicly pleaded with Triple H to arrange the match. That fight was scheduled for around the time of the Survivor Series, but not long after that, plans were changed.
The focus of Cena’s WrestleMania comeback then shifted to current US Champion Austin Theory. On December 30, Theory was pulled from a live event in Toronto so that she could travel to Tampa, where Cena would be competing in a tag match against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Roman Reigns. She did this so that she could film an angle backstage with Cena that would set up their match at WrestleMania.
Rollins’ WrestleMania backup plans
That segment is still a secret and hasn’t yet been broadcast on WWE programming. Rollins’ own WrestleMania backup plans fell through, thus Paul became available to him as a result. There were rumours that he was being considered for a championship match to crown a new champion while dividing Roman Reigns’ united belts. That, however, turned out not to be the case. Rollins took a different path, which is where we are now, while Reigns retained both of his championships.
The social media megastar will now face Rollins live from Boston, Massachusetts, on WWE Raw the following week. Rollins interrupted The A- Lister’s most recent episode of Miz TV with earnest intentions after stomping The Miz three times during their match the previous week. He only requested that Miz call Paul on his behalf, but Miz refused and labelled him a goof before getting hit with a superkick.
