Letitia Wright Reveals She Had Talks About Becoming Black Panther Earlier

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is soon going to be out in theatres on 11th November 2022. Since the trailer has come out, fans are wondering about who the next Black Panther would be.

Marvel has already confirmed there would be no CGI or replacement for Chadwick Boseman. There are many contenders, according to the fans who are deserving of taking up the mantle. One such character is Shuri. She is not just the sister of T’Challa but she is quite a genius and brave to carry forward the legacy.

Letitia Wright has been asked in many interviews about being the next Black Panther. But she has always responded coyly. Recently she had an Interview with Empire where she talks about her journey as Shuri & her talks with Ryan Coogler (the director) to become Black Panther.

Will Shuri Be The Next Black Panther?

Letitia Wright who plays Shuri, in talks with Empire speaks about how her character gave her the strength to keep going. She says Shuri’s journey has allowed her to “grieve, to cry, to laugh and to gain strength that I never thought I could ever have.” She adds that trials and tribulations make one who they are. So “you either gold or you get up and go again.”

Letitia says Shuri’s journey has helped her to keep going until her healing started. The Black Panther actress revealed that she had already spoken about being Black Panther in 2017 with Ryan Coogler. She had a conversation with the director and Chadwick Boseman at the time of the first film and she says “we touched on it briefly”. When Letitia got to know she was playing Shuri, she looked forward to the role.

When Letitia was asked about now taking on the mantle of Black Panther, she says “It’s tricky to answer.”
