Leslie Grace Shares A Heartfelt Message For Batgirl Fans After $90M Film Gets Shelved

Indeed, it was a sad day yesterday for the Batgirl fans as they won’t be getting to see their beloved character onscreen because of the decision taken by Warner Bros.

Directors El Arbi & Bilall Fallah shared their responses about the cancellation of the film. In the note which they posted, both the directors appreciated the cast and crew of the film, that worked so hard for bringing the character to life.

The directors were “saddened” and “shocked” by hearing this news about Batgirl being shelved. They expressed their gratefulness for being a part of the film.

Leslie Grace who was supposed to debut as Batgirl in the film, also broke the silence on the decision by Warner Bros. She expressed how proud she was of this role and shared some images as well on her Instagram handle.

Her caption of the post reads, that she addressed people as “Querida familia” which means beloved family. Leslie wrote about how proud and blessed she is, for being a part of the film and having such great cast members with whom she made great bonds in the process.

She says, ” On the heels of the recent news about our movie “Batgirl”, I am proud of the love, hard work, and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over 7 months in Scotland. I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process!”

She also has a message for all the fans out there, she says “To every Batgirl Fan – THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, “my own damn hero”. #Batgirl for life!🦇”

Why Warner Bros Shelved $90M Batgirl Movie?

Batgirl movie cost $90M dollars, for its production. The reason behind not releasing it is because it got many negative reviews and feedback after the test screening. Fans were disappointed watching the film and thought that it was not at all good in comparison to other DC films. It was also reported that they said it wasn’t kind of “the big theatrical event film” they expected.
