Their are no two thoughts about the fact that LeBron James is an absolute legend of the game. The King is in his year 19 in the league and is still in the ruling the arena like greatest of the champions. Moreover, he is closing in on breaking several records this season.
One of which was becoming the only player in NBA history to have 10K+ points, rebounds, and assists to his name. James already had 10K+ points and rebounds to his name, the only thing left to achieve was 10K assists.
Well, LeBron reached the magical number in the Los Angeles Lakers’ most recent game against the Phoenix Suns. Upon reaching this unprecedented milestone, LeBron shared his thoughts on the achievement.
“I get lost for words anytime things like this are happening to me because of where I come from”- LeBron
“To now sit alone at a statistical category in this league that I’ve really modeled my game after: being able to score, rebound and assist. I sit alone at a stat is pretty like — I’d say ‘cool,’ but it doesn’t quite make sense to me. I get lost for words anytime things like this are happening to me because of where I come from. I automatically start thinking to my hometown of Akron [Ohio] and my upbringing and where I come from and the dreams that I had of being in this league and playing at the highest level,” James said.
He added, “My teammates congratulated me after the game. My mom texted me, I believe at halftime, I saw it after the game. It’s an honor to be a part of this league and no matter what’s going on this season, you try to take the victories that happen throughout the course of a long marathon. And tonight is one that happened not only for myself but for my family and friends.”
Despite LeBron’s best efforts, the Suns put the Lakers into submission in a lopsided affair were blown as the scoreline read 140-111 at the end of the game.
The disappointed Lakers fans once again roasted the Lakers team. As we are into the fag end of the tourney, the Lakers find themselves heading towards a point of no return. Only the overly optimistic fans would still be hoping for the King to somehow carry the team to the playoffs.
