Kendall Jenner Sizzles in Vintage Jean Paul Gaultier Gown at the Beach

Kendall Jenner’s recent beach outfit has caused us all some fashion envy. The model shared images of herself on Instagram wearing a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier gown styled by Dani Michelle and Maren Taylor, and it’s safe to say she looked amazing.

The outfit, which was purchased from the vintage couture shop Opulent Addict, contains a sepia screen printing of the Venus de Milo. This famous sculpture is thought to symbolize Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, and the design of the dress provides the illusion of a “bare” dress across the bodice. The dress has geometric cuts and a blue color-block design; displaying more of the classic motif when it splits at the mid-thigh.

Jenner accessorized her gown with silver huggie hoop earrings and walked about barefoot to keep with the coastal vibe. Her relaxed beach style was complemented by a gorgeous sunset in the background.

It’s worth noting that the gown first appeared in Jean Paul Gaultier’s Soleil spring/summer 1999 collection; demonstrating that fashion is cyclical and that vintage pieces can still be quite relevant and on-trend. Jenner’s sister Kourtney Kardashian recently made a statement in a Balmain nude-print gown; suggesting that the naked-dress trend is here to stay.

Kendall Jenner’s current beach outfit is an example of effortless style and a reminder that sometimes less is more. The dress, despite being old, is still in style; and can serve as inspiration for individuals wishing to revamp their wardrobe. It’ll be interesting to see what more fashion moments the Kardashian-Jenner clan has in store for us in the future.
