Shoot The Moon, an upcoming comedy drama series on Amazon, will star actor Ken Jeong. His will be the main character. According to Deadline, the half-hour, single-camera film is loosely influenced by Paul Bae, a former high school English teacher and stand-up comedian who created The Black Tapes podcast series.

Bae married his college sweetheart, an evangelical youth minister. He started on a struggling, years-long journey with his friends and family back to wholeness after losing his wife to divorce and Jesus to christianity.

Jeong will play Michael, a son of Korean immigrants who has accomplished the American Dream but discovers it to be illusory when his marriage and career fall apart, prompting him to embark on a journey to reevaluate and reconstruct his life.

The show will be produced by actor Daniel Dae Kim’s label 3AD in collaboration with Amazon Studios. Jeong is best known for his roles in The Hangover trilogy, Vampire Suck, Ride Along 2, and Crazy Rich Asians.
