Kehlani has identified as queer and bisexual long back, however, she proclaimed herself a lesbian via a recent TikTok post on April 22. The singer said in a video, “I am gay, gay, gay. … I finally know I’m a lesbian.”
She joked about coming out to her family as a lesbian as she shared that her family obviously knew before. The songwriter said that her family’s reaction was like, “We know, duh.” The news will not come to fans as a surprise either. She has been an advocate of the LGBTQ community as she goes by the pronouns she/ they.
The songwriter had opened up about their sexuality previously in a now-deleted tweet. She wrote, “I felt gay always insisted there was still a line drawn as to which ‘label’ of human I was attracted when I really just be walking around thinking ERRYBODY FINE.” But she hadn’t come out to her family at that point.
Kehlani also posted a video previously where she said, “Never have I identified as a lesbian”. Fans have obviously noticed when she dropped the news earlier this month via an Instagram live. She asked her fans if they want to know what is new about her. The singer proceeded as she shared that she finally knows she is a lesbian.
She said, “You wanna know what’s new about me? I finally know I’m a lesbian! I just wanted y’all to know that everyone knew but me”. The songwriter has a daughter who is 2-years-old, Adeya and she recently released her second album. The album featured guest appearances by Tory Lanez, Jhené Aiko, Lucky Daye, and James Blake, among others.
