Kat Dennings opened up about why it was important for her to defend Billie Eilish against all the internet trolls. The musician faced a lot of trolling and backlash as photos of her casually being out and about in Los Angeles was published.

Kat was one of the celebrities who supported her against internet trolls who started body-shaming her. The pictures were normal and nothing out of the ordinary had happened except that Billie had gone for a casual look as she ditched her baggy clothes. The pictures got a lot of negative comments after they were surfaced on the internet.

The actress had tweeted in support of the singer and wrote, “As someone who looked exactly like that at her age, it’d be nice for this unhealthy nonsense to f**k right off.” She further added that Billie looks beautiful and normal and said goodbye.

Kat addressed the negativity and why she supported her while promoting her new movie, Friendsgiving. She described the trolling on the internet as absolutely “gross”. The actress shared that any woman in the spotlight is under a tremendous amount of pressure already and the internet just adds on.

The actress said, “Any woman in the spotlight is already under a tremendous amount of pressure and the internet is gross and awful and I hate it.” She continued and wondered if it is because she is so young. However, she further described it as “inappropriate” as anyone should not comment on any young person’s body.

Dennings Hopes That People Realize Body-Shaming Is Not Okay

Kat said, “People forget themselves because the internet is this wall they can hide behind. I felt personally affronted by it because she’s a beautiful young girl who is making unbelievable, earth-changing art.” The actress further added how she mentioned in her tweet that she looked exactly like that when she was her age and had a horrible time.

She shared that things have improved as far as body image for girls and boys and everybody and described it as being “inclusive”. The actress explained, “But when I was growing up it was not like that. I hope people know that people are in their corner and that [body-shaming] is not okay.”

Kat further discussed her movie, Friendsgiving, in which she portrays the character of Abby. Her character is a woman who finds herself across the country from her family during Thanksgiving. She hopes to spend her holiday with her best friend basically crying over her breakup and just eat a bunch of snacks and go to sleep.

The actress shares how relatable that is and further adds to the story saying her “best friend who is going through a divorce is like, ‘Forget it. I want to be surrounded by people and forget about everything.’ So this is what happens when two friends who are both heartbroken want to do one day very differently.”

Kat added how great it is as there aren’t many Thanksgiving movies. She shared how there aren’t many movies for people who spend the holiday away from their families. However, the actress also noted that the unexpected cameos in the movie are one of the reasons why the movie is a must-watch.

Kat Reveals How Fun It Was Kissing Aisha

The film includes cameos from Jane Seymour, Wanda Sykes, and Margaret Cho. The actress further shared that there is a scene where she kisses Aisha Tyler along with the film being “fun, light-headed, nostalgic. “That’s a bonus!” she laughed.

Further talking about her little scene with Aisha, she said it was fun and she enjoyed it more than when she had to make out with male actors. Kat said, There’s something about kissing or a love scene that’s always a little uncomfortable. It really depends on your relationship with the other actor, man, or lady. But Aisha — I love her so much and we became so close so quickly, so it was like kissing my friend.”

The actress had recently tweeted how she was looking for someone to marry in New Zealand to get citizenship to the country. “But seriously, who in New Zealand will enter into a loveless marriage with me for citizenship?” Kat posted on social media. When being asked about that she revealed that she shockingly had some and realized it was not a great thing to do.

Kat shared, “I [tweeted] in the heat of the moment of the situation with COVID in the States. I’m just so saddened by the situation we’re in here, versus someplace like New Zealand that has got it under control in a pretty short amount of time.” The actress continued that she asks herself during her saddest times why can’t she do this.

She further shared it is unfair to everybody but despite that, she is going to tough it out. The actress revealed she hopes she falls in love with this New Zealand person but clarifies that she will stay where she is.
