Justin Bieber Recalls Being Suicidal & Feeling ‘Consistent’ Pain

Justin Bieber did give fans a little peek into his personal life and showed his dark time through his recent single, Lonely. However, he dives in deeper and talks about that in his YouTube Special Justin Bieber: Next Chapter.

The singer shared that when he was 15, he was surrounded by millions of people in the audience but he still felt lonely, misunderstood, and hurt. The YouTube special released on October 30 giving fans more insight into the singer’s past.

He said, “I just had no idea what was to come. I had no idea that this life would take me by storm. I had no idea that I would get sucked up by all of this.” It is no secret that the artist has been in the public eye since he became viral through his early Youtube career.

Justin had the support of his fans and it is safe to say he also had a lot of critics. He recalled how there were so many people who were mean and revealed how random people said, ‘You suck! You look like a girl!’

The singer shared that he used to shake it off and act like it did not bother him but really it bothered him. The Grammy-winner recalled, “And then it affected how I acted; and how I treated other people, and it’s just this ongoing cycle of, like, hurt people, hurt people. I was just this young kid.”

Justin recalled the pressure to be this star who is supposed to have it all together. However, he reveals he was struggling with his mental health all that time. He also revealed the time when he was really suicidal and he used to think to himself, ‘Man, is this pain ever gonna go away?’

Justin Says Hailey Makes Him Feel Enough

The Yummy singer recalled, “It was so consistent. The pain was so consistent. I was just suffering.” For some of you who do not recall Justin’s messy past, he was arrest back in January of 2014 for driving under the influence of alcohol. The singer also received major backlash after a video of him saying the N-word resurfaced. He was also charged for vandalizing his neighbor’s house.

After the scandalous year, the singer made a professional comeback in 2015. He was still struggling as he canceled his Purpose tour in 2017 because of his mental health. His physical health also took a toll as he announced that he suffers from Lyme disease.

Justin shared how difficult it is to share his weakness in his YouTube special. However, he said the silver lining is that acknowledging it would allow him to grow. The singer was also hugely popular for his failed relationship with Selena Gomez.

Although he went on to marry Hailey Bieber, it was revealed one way or the other that the singer had cheated multiple times on Selena. However, on the brighter side, the Grammy-winner shares how Hailey empowers him and enables him to feel loved and enough.

Justin said, “That enables me to go into my workspace and be confident and feel like I’m enough.”
