Jungkook ended 2022 as the most successful K-Pop soloist, with three new releases. And by the looks of it, he has also started the new year with a bang.
Jungkook has become the Fastest Korean Act and Fastest Korean Soloist in history to surpass 800M streams on his Spotify account, in just 338 days with just three songs.
The singer has been part of three songs as a solo artist this year – Stay Alive, Left and Right, and Dreamers. “Stay Alive” is a song recorded by the artist as the original music for Hybe and Naver Webtoon’s joint webtoon 7Fates: Chakho. Jungkook also collaborated with American artist Charlie Puth on the song “Left & Right.” More recently, the Korean singer contributed to the FIFA World Cup 2022 soundtrack and released the accompanying single “Dreamers.”
All of these songs broke records as the highest-debuting songs by a Korean soloist on the Spotify Global chart.
Jungkook also became the most streamed K-Pop soloist of the year 2022 as a result of the immense success and popularity of all three of these songs.
In addition to the three solo songs that Jungkook was part of this year, he has also released three solo tracks as part of BTS discography: “Begin” in 2016, “Euphoria” in 2018, and “My Time” in 2020, all of which have charted on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart.
Jungkook will be making his solo debut this year. It was confirmed last year that all BTS members will make solo debuts. So far the members who have already made their solo debuts include j-hope, Jin, and RM. Jimin is also making his solo debut in February.
