2022 saw Jungkook of BTS emerge as one of the most successful solo acts in K-Pop as he released three new tracks under his newly created Spotify profile. The three songs that Jungkook released in 2022 are – Stay Alive, Left and Right, and Dreamers.
“Stay Alive” is a song recorded by the artist as the original music for Hybe and Naver Webtoon’s joint webtoon 7Fates: Chakho. Jungkook also collaborated with American artist Charlie Puth on the song “Left & Right.” More recently, the Korean singer contributed to the FIFA World Cup 2022 soundtrack and released the accompanying single “Dreamers.” All of these songs broke records as the highest-debuting songs by a Korean soloist on the Spotify Global chart. Jungkook also became the most streamed K-Pop soloist of the year as a result of the immense success and popularity of all three of these songs.
And now the 25-year-old singer has become the fastest Asian, K-Pop and Korean Act in history to reach six million followers on the biggest music streaming platform – Spotify. It is noteworthy that the K-Pop idol is yet to make his solo debut or release a solo album, which he will be doing this year.
In addition to the three solo songs that Jungkook was part of this year, he has also released three solo tracks as part of BTS discography: “Begin” in 2016, “Euphoria” in 2018, and “My Time” in 2020, all of which have charted on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart.
Jungkook’s solo song “Euphoria” which was released under BTS’ profile recently became the most streamed Korean solo song on Spotify.
It was annouced by BigHit last year that all BTS members will be making their solo debuts. j-hope was the first member to go solo. RM & Jin made their solo debuts after him. Jimin is rumored to be the next BTS member to release his solo album.
