Jon Moxley will make his presence known tonight on AEW Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling has revealed that Jon Moxley will come on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite and talk on the programme. At Quake By The Lake on August 10, Moxley is anticipated to speak about his impending Interim AEW World Championship defense.

AEW Championship

As the second-ever AEW World Champion, Moxley is no stranger to winning a world championship. After beating Jericho at the Revolution PPV in 2020, he retained the championship for the majority of the year. He overcame competitors like Brodie Lee, Lance Archer, and MJF to win the championship during his time at the top. Up until the Winter Is Coming 2020 episode of “Dynamite,” when he lost the World Championship to Kenny Omega, The Best Bout Machine, Moxley would retain the title.

How he became the champion then?

After CM Punk’s unfortunate injury, he had to vacant the title. Moxley was handed the title and then on his recent string of victories has proven that he can be a good opponent when Punk returns. Moxley won the championship in the Forbidden Door event after defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi. After sustaining a foot injury during the June 1 episode of Dynamite, the official AEW World Champion CM Punk has been sidelined from competition. Although they were unable to defend their title, The Second City Saint theoretically still possesses it.

Update on CM Punk: CM Punk may not return sooner than anticipated

What about Jericho?

In an AEW ring, Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho will square off once more.

For Mox’s interim world title, the longstanding rivals will square off at AEW Quake For The Lake in Minneapolis. The Purveyor of Violence vanquished the Demo God in their most recent encounter at Revolution 2020, beginning his first reign as global champion. Jericho wants the title more than anyone else.

AEW’s first Interim Champion

After defeating Tanahashi, who was previously mentioned, Moxley became the first and only Interim AEW World Champion. Moxley has been absent from the Champions roster page for much of June and into July, according to AEW. But now they have officially added him as the AEW champion on their page.

New Challenger on the rise

It’s simple to overlook the fact that Jon Moxley also has other prestigious titles in addition to the AEW Interim World Championship. The GCW World Championship is also held by Moxley, but a new rival has emerged to put his tyranny in jeopardy. Last week, Moxley accepted Jericho’s challenge to a championship match, becoming the interim AEW World Champion. However, Wheeler Yuta prodded Jericho on Rampage to risk losing his chance for the championship.

Why Jericho Should Win?

Since the Jericho Appreciation Society was founded earlier this year, it has been a frequent subject of AEW programming. In addition to the Blackpool Combat Club, they have had encounters with Eddie Kingston, former Inner Circle members Santana, and Ortiz. Before losing to the BCC at Blood and Guts, Jericho’s group even scored a memorable triumph in the Anarchy In The Arena fight at Double or Nothing 2022. This is a fantastic technique to keep the faction current because The Wizard has inserted himself into the world title image. They will be able to restore part of their lost vigor thanks to it.
