Johnny Galecki of TBBT sends a cute photo to Kaley Cuoco on her birthday

Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki’s co-star on The Big Bang Theory, celebrates her birthday.

Along with Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar, the two actors who played on-screen couple Leonard and Penny were among the original cast members of the hit CBS comedy.

After an on-again, off-again relationship in the early seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Leonard and Penny were engaged in season 7 and married in season 9.

CBS announced just a few months before the launch of The Big Bang Theory season 12 that it was in talks to renew the sitcom for another season or two. This made sense, given the show’s ongoing popularity after more than a decade on the air.

However, after Parsons felt it was time to move on, it was eventually reported that The Big Bang Theory will be canceled. Everyone else in the cast, including Galecki and Cuoco, was willing to continue playing their characters at that point. However, the cast as a whole agreed that it was better to discontinue The Big Bang Theory than to continue with an incomplete cast.

Galecki confirms that he and Cuoco have remained close three years after the finale of The Big Bang Theory. On her birthday, the actor sent a message to his former on-screen wife (November 30). “Happy belated 48th birthday to my / globally adored, Mooks,” the actor said besides a throwback selfie of the two. Cuoco had only recently turned 36, and Galecki was kidding about her age.

The Big Bang Theory’s original core couple was Penny and Leonard. Leonard’s feelings for his freshly moved-in neighbor were clearly recognizable as the pilot.

However, it took them some time to develop a solid relationship. They tried dating, but owing to their differences, they ended up breaking up, which led to them seeing other people. In the end, though, Penny and Leonard were married and expecting their first child at the conclusion of The Big Bang Theory.

Galecki and Cuoco really dated in real life during the early seasons of The Big Bang Theory, which adds to the mystery surrounding his tweets. The couple subsequently broke up, but they remained friends, as Galecki’s lovely birthday letter demonstrates.
