John Krasinki’s ‘SGN’ Holiday Special Features Dwayne Johnson & More

John Krasinki is bringing us a little good news this holiday season. He has returned for the special holiday episode of his popular internet show, Some Good News.

The actor kicked off a special episode which was released on Sunday with a little bit of fan art. It included a very attractive drawing of him as he joked that it was the Internet’s not-so-subtle hint that it would much prefer to have this show hosted by Justin Timberlake.

The camera then focused on Justin as he said without any hesitation that he will do it. John then introduced Jay Abel which was a touching moment. Jay is a single father of two who had lost his wife several years ago. He was selling comic book merchandise on eBay to pay for his kids’ Christmas gifts.

The Office alum revealed that he had tried to buy all of his eBay merchandise but Jay thought it was a scam and he blocked the purchase. That is when, John looked onto Dwayne Johnson for help, whom he referred to as Dwanta Claus.

Dwayne shared that he wants Jay to take all of his stuff off of eBay because Dwanta Claus is going to take care of all of that. He also offered to fly Jay to Southern California after the pandemic was over to visit the DC Universe,

The actor shared that he will be binding and signing his copy of the film’s script, Black Adam, and send it to Jay. He is starring as the anti-hero Black Adam in the upcoming movie of the same name.

“You represent so many parents around the world who are going through the struggle this Christmas,” Johnson told Jay. “That is why my good buddy, John, and I called some of our elf friends to see if they’re able to help some other families all around the world.”

Along with that, the two celebrity friends were able to donate $5 million to Toys for Tots with the help of FedEx. Jay said how important that was because there are many more needy children than his children.

Some Good News premiered in March at the start of the pandemic and featured many fun cast reunions, celebrity cameos, and endearing moments of good news. ViacomCBS then purchased the show, but John will not be hosting it when it airs.
