South Korean singer and actress, Jisoo, a member of the globally renowned girl group BLACKPINK, has started filming her first solo music video ahead of her rumored solo debut in March. Fans are hoping for a March release so Jisoo can have solo songs to perform at Coachella, where BLACKPINK is one of the three headliners this year.
On February 21, Jisoo’s agency, YG Entertainment, announced that she had begun shooting the music video for her upcoming solo release. The company stated that Jisoo had been working hard to prepare for her solo debut, and fans can expect a high-quality and meaningful release.
Revealing the news the agency YG Entertainment said, “We have invested the largest production cost ever among BLACKPINK videos, so you can look forward to it.”
YG said Jisoo is shooting for the M/V at a secret location overseas (outside of Korea), but fans were quick to find out that the secret location is Los Angeles as they discovered on Instagram that all YG crew members and dancers are flying to LA.
All of BLACKPINK members enjoy impressive individual global fame and all of their solo releases have been significant and successful, from Jennie’s “SOLO”, Lisa’s “Money”, to Rosé’s “On The Ground” and “Hard To Love”.
Jisoo began her career as a trainee under YG Entertainment in 2011. She trained for five years before making her debut as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016. Since then, BLACKPINK has become one of the biggest girl groups in the world, with millions of fans around the globe.
