Jin & V make history on the Billboard charts

BTS Jin has created history with his hit, ‘Yours,’ according to Billboard’s Top 10 Hot Trending Songs driven by Twitter. The BTS member was rated at number 10 on the chart on January 29, setting a record as the only K-Pop soloist to spend 11 weeks on the chart. ‘Yours’ now holds the record for being the longest-running Korean solo song on the list. Meanwhile, BTS’ hit single ‘Butter’ is still at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In the meantime, V, another member of BTS, has made history on the Billboard charts! For the week of January 29, V’s OST ‘Christmas Tree’ for the blockbuster series ‘Our Beloved Summer’ was rated 97 on Billboard’s Global (excluding the US) Chart. Last week’s entry placed 92, making this week’s entry the third week in a row that ‘Christmas Tree’ has charted on the list. BTS’ V now holds the record for being the first Korean male solo artist to enter the Top 100 of the list on consecutive times.

On January 27, BIGHIT MUSIC also revealed that the Recording Industry Association of Japan had certified two of BTS’ Japanese songs, ‘Film Out’ and ‘Lights,’ as platinum (RIAJ). ‘Lights’ was released in July 2021, whereas ‘Film Out’ was the lead track of BTS’ Japanese album ‘BTS, THE BEST,’ which was released in June 2021. In addition, the Japanese version of BTS’ single “Spring Day,” which was released in 2017, has been certified gold.

With these latest additions, the group now has a total of eight tracks with platinum certifications, including ‘Permission To Dance’, ‘Butter’, ‘Dynamite’, ‘Boy With Luv’, Stay Gold’, and ‘DNA’.
