The first round of nominations for the 2022 Circle Chart Music Awards were formally revealed on December 17. BTS member Jin was one of them and was nominated in two categories, the first of which was Artist of the Year-Album Physicals (4Q) for his solo song The Astronaut.
The “Yours” vocalist is now the only solo artist nominated in the same category as other K-pop groups.
Furthermore, Jin has been included on a list of nominees for the Global Digital (October) category of Artist of the Year. The full-length albums of other bands are up against Jin’s English single The Astronaut. The aforementioned categories, however, won’t have voting.
The date of the 2023 Circle Charts Music Awards is set for February 18.
As soon as it was released, Jin’s first single, The Astronaut, became a hit all over the world. The song set several records and increased the idol’s recognition on a global scale. The idol quickly rose to the position of second-best-selling K-pop soloist in Circle Chart Music Awards history.
According to Circle’s Chart, The Astronaut became the solo single to sell more than 100,000 units in the US in the shortest amount of time—less than 19 days. The solo single also broke the Circle’s Chart record for the fastest soloist album to sell over a million copies in less than 16 days. On Circle’s chart, it has been recognised as a 1x Million Seller.
The record for the best-selling K-pop soloist formerly belonged to EXO’s Baekhyun and vocalist Lim Young-woong.

On the other hand, he is nominated in the Artist of the Year- Glocal Digital (October) Category alongside GIDLE, LE SSERAFIM, SELGUI, and Straykids.
