Jennifer Lopez will be playing her greatest hits for America when she makes an appearance Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2021. The actress was announced to be a part of the annual New Year’s celebration by ABC.
The pop star will not be alone as she will be joined by a bunch of performers including Pose star, Billy Porter. Cyndi Lauper and country music star Jimmie Allen will also be joining JLo at the New Year’s Ever Celebration. The singer will have a special performance before the ball drops at the stroke of midnight.
The annual celebration will be ushering towards 2021 and ending the rollercoaster year of 2020. Jennifer is reported to be performing for an empty house as the audience will not be allowed in at the venues at New York and Los Angeles due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Jennifer will be performing as she will cover only a portion of the evening of performances. The show will reportedly be continuing till 2 am E.T. This will mark as the first time JLo will be performing since the pandemic started. Billy and Cyndi will be performing a duet from their hit Broadway show Kinky Boots. The Pose alum will be assisting Ryan in hosting as well as performing with Cyndi. Lucy Hale will also be joining Ryan and Billy to host the show in New York City. Ciara will also be anchoring the annual celebration from Los Angeles. The country singer-songwriter Jessie James Decker will round out the hosting crew for the second year in a row as the New Year’s Eve Powerball correspondent.
The Star-Studded New Year Celebration
It is reported that she will be revealing Powerball’s First Millionaire of the Year shortly after the ball drops. The celebration will be produced by Dick Clark Productions as he himself had hosted the show from 1973 to 2004. He had to give it up to Ryan after suffering a stroke in 2004.
Ryan will be hosting the long-running show for the 16th year. The Live with Kelly and Ryan revealed that 2020 has been a trying year for the world and that he is thrilled to have Billy and Lucy join him at the beginning of the new year. He said, “We look forward to making sure it’s a night for everyone to remember.”
Jennifer will be performing some of her superhit songs but she will also be performing some of the new songs available. She released her single In The Morning as she sang about setting expectations for a lover. The singer was recently spotted along with her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez as she returned to New York City to throw a surprise birthday party for her mother.
As the New Year comes closer, the list of more performers will be announced in the days to come. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2021 will begin airing at 8 p.m. ET on December 31.
