Jennifer Lopez Reveals She & Alex Considered Never Marrying Each Other

Jennifer Lopez opened up about her marriage plans with Alex Rodriguez. In an interview with Andy Cohen, the singer revealed that the couple debated ever getting married.

The host asked her if she ever considered canceling the wedding plans altogether. He referred to it as pulling a “Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell thing”. Jennifer and Alex had to postpone their wedding and have no clear date set because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Goldie and Kurt are famous for never having tied the knot despite being together since 1983. This decision was even defended by Goldie recently. JLo revealed how she and Alex have also considered opting out of the whole marriage idea while appearing on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy.

The actress admitted that they have talked about it for sure. She said, “I mean at our age, we’ve both been married before, it’s like, do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us?” The singer said it depends on person-to-person about what they would want to do. She said that there is no rush.

However, JLo and Alex would have gotten married already if it were not for the worldwide and ongoing global pandemic. She shared that it was sad because they were supposed to get married in June and they had it all planned out. The singer expressed that in March or April, they were looking down the pipe and thinking this might not happen.

“It just kind of gave us a moment to pause and think about it.”

Jennifer shared, “Italy’s the worst place in the world. And we were going to get married in Italy. It was, yeah, it was like, I was like, ‘okay, we got to cancel everything.’ And we just started kind of like, and we had to put out all this money and all this stuff, we were like, we gotta cancel it. So we, we canceled it.”

The Hustlers alum had found that it was still not the right time for them to exchange vows when they looked into regrouping for later in the year. Which meant a 2020 wedding was definitely not on the plat for the celebrity couple. She admitted that it was a little disappointing as she was also given a new perspective on the wedding.

The actress shared that the perspective was gained by looking at Goldie and Kurt’s relationship. She shared how she keeps thinking that things will happen in their time. The singer further added, “But the same thing with like the Goldie thing and Kurt, you think, ‘Do you have to, should we?’ It just kind of gave us a moment to pause and think about it.”

However, the wedding of the couple remains at a standstill as she concluded that it is something that is important to them so there is no rush. She said that it will happen when it happens and that there is no rush. JLo was looking forward to getting married and was going into the wedding in full force.

A source close to the actress revealed that she was looking forward to it towards the end of October. However, it has been over a year since Alex popped the question as he proposed to her on the beach in March of 2019.

JLo and Alex were both previously married to different partners. The actress was married to Marc Anthony and they separated in 2011, while Alex got divorced from Cynthia Scurtis in 2008. Both JLo and Alex are together since 2017 and have been taking their relationship nice and slow.
