The GOTG director James Gunn has announced that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy falls under Marvel Special Presentation. We already know that during this year’s Disney D23 Expo marvel released exclusive footage of its upcoming projects and GOTG did not get an announcement at the event.
James Gunn took to his social media to make clear to the fans not to expect any GOTG announcement at the event ahead of D23. But even though, the movie did not get a special trailer at D23, James Gunn has now announced that Volume 3 of the Guardians series would still fall under the special category. Another movie to get this designation was Werewolf by Night which got its first trailer under the special category.
A Marvel fan posted a question if Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will fall under the category of Marvel special category, to which James responded “yes it will”. Further, he also clarified to the fan what exactly Marvel’s special presentation is. He stated that specials are only a part of the MCU and that the label just means that they are neither streaming series nor movies.
“It’s a special. Not a series or movie. It’s within the MCU.“-he tweeted. In a prior statement, Gunn explained how the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special fits within the MCU’s overall phase structure. He has also revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is his favorite movie from the franchise and he had a lot of fun working on this film. previously he had also revealed that the film is going to be bittersweet and it was also difficult filming it for many reasons.
However, fans can’t wait for the movie to release and see the space warriors one last time as a team in one last space adventure.
GOTG Volume 3
This movie will mark the final part of the Guardians series. In Volume 3 of the GOTG, Star-Lord and his team will be seen on a journey to find their missing family member ‘Gamora’- played by Zoe Saldana.
However, there is a possibility that the other members of the space warriors- Guardians Of The Galaxy will be appearing in some MCU movies later.
The last time the guardians were seen together was in Avengers: Endgame joining hands with Thor, which we will see in the recent upcoming movie Thor: Love and Thunder, which stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, and his space friends Drax played by Dave Bautista, Nebula by Karen Gillan, Mantis by Pom Klementieff, Kraglin by Sean Gunn, Groot by Vin Diesel and Rocket Raccoon by Bradley Cooper.
