Jake Paul Reportedly Eyeing MMA Debut In 2022, But Not With The UFC

After foreshadowing a move from boxing with fresh training footage, Jake Paul is apparently in “advanced talks” to make his MMA debut this year, but it won’t be with Dana White’s UFC.

Paul has become the focus of numerous MMA legends since his viral KO victory over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley. He’s raised a lot of eyebrows, from fellow competitors calling him out to UFC President Dana White himself.

Among the many internet feuds, one offer, in particular, drew the attention of the MMA community. If White agreed to increase the compensation and benefits of his contracted UFC fighters, Paul promised to retire from boxing.

It now looks that a combat sports exchange is in the pipeline. According to MMAmania, though, his debut fight will not take place inside a UFC octagon. According to speculations, Paul could make his MMA debut in the PFL.

As per reports, the younger Paul sibling is in “advanced talks” with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). In fact, according to insiders, he could make his debut this calendar year. For a variety of reasons, the PFL appears to be the preferred MMA promotion over its competitors. Paul, for example, would appear to “retain more control of his brand.”

This report was written in the aftermath of Paul’s one-of-a-kind training session. Rather than lacing his boxing gloves, a new video shows him for the first time doing “training kicks”. “Glad we can help you with your MMA journey,” MMA gym Unbreakable Performance followed up on Instagram.

For the time being, it’s clear that nothing is set in stone. Paul has yet to sign a contract with PFL, although he is anticipated to make a decision soon.

If an MMA bout does place, the Sports Illustrated’s breakout boxer of the year would definitely create headlines once more, proving ‘doubters’ incorrect.
