The much awaited season of IPL 2022 got under way in Mumbai on March 26th. The 1st week of the new season already witnessed some of the best performances and a lot more to come in the coming weeks.

1) Jos Butler 100 vs Mumbai Indians

Jos Butler showed why he is the boss of T20 cricket with a stellar 100 against Mumbai Indians. Butler was in sublime touch smashing the bowlers to all parts of the ground. He scored the first hundred of IPL 2022 and this was also his 3rd Hundred in his IPL career.

2) Faf Du Plessis 88 vs Punjab Kings

The new captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore began his journey with the new franchise with a bang. Faf scored 88 runs against Punjab Kings in RCB’S opening encounter. Faf smoked the ball to all corners of the ground at the DY Patil stadium. Unfortunately he couldn’t begin his captaincy reign at RCB with a win as Punjab Kings chased down the target with one over to spare.

3) Shubman Gill 84 vs Delhi Capitals

Gill failed to score in the first match versus Lucknow Super Gaints. He announced his arrival in IPL 2022 with a master class innings of 84 runs in 46 balls. Gill scored 6 fours and 4 sixes in his knock. Gill was timing the ball beautifully and is a treat to watch him bat when he gets going.

4) Ishan Kishan 81 vs Delhi Capitals

Ishan Kishan started his IPL 2022 campaign with a fiery and we’ll controlled knock of 81 against Delhi Capitals. Kishan scored most of his runs in boundaries. Despite his heroics Mumbai were able to score 177 runs and Delhi Capitals chased it down in 18.2 overs. Though Mumbai lost the match he proved why he bagged huge amount in the auction.

5) Andre Russell 70 vs Punjab Kings

The Beast was unleashed in the form of Andre Russell against Punjab Kings. It was an absolute carnage from the big man at Wankhede. Russell scored a quick fire 70 Runs in 31 balls hitting 8 sixes to take KKR over the kind in just 14.2 overs. Russell was in the mood and the Punjab Kings bowlers were thrashed and they had no answers to the hitting of the big man.
