In the Doctor Strange 2 trailer, Patrick Stewart reacts to Professor X

Patrick Stewart shares his excitement at the possibility of reprising his role as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as his reactions to the rumors.

With the release of a teaser trailer tacked on to Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel Studios officially started off the marketing campaign for the Sam Raimi and Benedict Cumberbatch film. However, it was the first complete trailer, which was published during Super Bowl LVI, that caused a sensation.

The Doctor Strange 2 trailer had a lot of interesting moments, but the tease for Stewart’s voice as Charles Xavier was likely the most memorable.

It’s been a few years since Disney acquired Fox’s film and television assets, allowing Marvel Studios to recover the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all of their spin-off characters. Despite this, Kevin Feige and his team have remained tight-lipped about their mutant plans, particularly because a reboot of Marvel’s First Family is already in the works. It’s unknown how the MCU will include the X-Men into the franchise, but the advent of the universe allows them to be among Fox’s beloved Marvel characters, including Stewart’s mutant leader.

After nearly a week after the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, Stewart now discusses the possibility of playing Professor X in the film. The actor, who told Comic Book that many others have been mimicking his voice for decades, can’t confirm or deny his involvement. Kevin McCarthy shares his reaction to the possibility of him appearing in the upcoming MCU blockbuster in a subsequent interview, adding that everyone will have to wait and see whether he is indeed in the film.

“You know, people have been imitating my voice ever since I came on the stage 60 years ago. So, I can’t be held responsible for that.”

“I don’t look at a lot of social media and that’s mostly a time issue, but I must say, before bedtime on Sunday evening I had plenty of communications, friends and some people I hardly knew at all making reference to ‘ah! Is that you?.’ Well, of course, you know I was just at home waiting to watch football so how could it have possibly been me? We’ll have to wait and see.”
