In January, ANA, a Japanese airline, will debut a Demon Slayer-themed plane. Demon Slayer is an anime series set in Japan during the Taish era, based on the manga series of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge.
It follows Tanjiro, a boy, on his journey to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human after an attack kills their entire extended family and turns Nezuko into a demon.
Demon Slayer will take to the air
Demon Slayer gained a lot of momentum when its first season was released in 2019, to the point where IGN called it one of the top 10 animes of the year. After the second feature film premiered in October 2020, the anime’s tremendous popularity grew even further.
Demon Slayer – The Movie: Mugen Train was a worldwide box office success, becoming the highest-grossing anime film of all time. Season 2 of Demon Slayer began broadcasting in October 2021 and is still going strong.
The beloved anime is now expanding its reach into space. ANA, a Japanese airline, has announced that it will partner with the series to launch a Demon Slayer-themed plane. The Demon Slayer Jet One, a plane decorated on one side with Demon Slayer characters from the anime – Tanjiro, Nezuko, and their friends, Zenitsu and Inosuke – and on the other side with Tanjiro’s design from the original manga – is the highlight of the collaboration. Domestic service for the special jet will begin in January 2022. The flight schedule for Demon Slayer Jet One was recently announced by ANA, however, it is still subject to change.

Even if fans are unable to board the decorated Demon Slayer Jet One, there are still plenty of Demon Slayer attractions to enjoy. Beginning this month, ANA will distribute drinking cups decorated with a Demon Slayer pattern, as well as Demon Slayer menko, a paper toy for a Japanese game similar to Pogs, to younger passengers.
The menko will be available in 18 various anime designs, with each box containing two menko. Guests will be able to see all 26 episodes of Demon Slayer season 1 and listen to music from the anime as additional in-flight entertainment. There will be music from the anime’s original soundtrack as well as a live orchestra concert.
