‘Hocus Pocus 2’ will be arriving in a year and it’s already creating buzz. Disney+ Hotstar has officially released a first-look photo of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy back in action as the Sanderson sisters. The Sanderson sisters will live to witch another day. But they’ll somehow have new characters to face in Hocus Pocus 2.
The first season was loved by the audience and so this highly-anticipated sequel is officially happening. Now the official favorite three witches are back. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will be returning to the iconic roles of Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson in the upcoming Hocus Pocus 2.
New cast members include a Ted Lasso Emmy winner and a Gossip Girl star!
The movie will pick up almost 30 years after the events of the original pic. After inciting the wrath of the three witches, high schoolers Becca (Whitney Peak), Cassie (Lilia Buckingham) and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) must figure out how to stop them from wreaking havoc on Salem before midnight on Halloween.
Doug Jones will reprise his role as Billy Butcherson, and Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen join the cast.

The original movie was released in theaters, but Hocus Pocus 2 will be released solely on Disney+. The announcement was made in December 2020 during Disney Investor Day. Sean Bailey, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, told viewers: “Of course, one of the most popular holidays is Halloween, and one of the most popular Halloween movies is the cult classic Hocus Pocus. I am happy to confirm we are working on a treat for Disney+ audiences with a spooky sequel”. The movie’s release date will be in Fall 2022. Until then, fans can watch Hocus Pocus all year round on Disney+ now.
Bette, Sarah, and Kathy will reprise their roles as Sanderson sisters Winifred, Sarah, and Mary. The three actresses each posted the Hocus Pocus 2 official logo on their Instagram pages on May 20, 2021. “Sistaaaahs! It’s been 300 years… But we’re BACK!” Bette wrote. Sarah’s caption read, “Yep.
