Historian Claims Kim Kardashian Received Fake Locks Of Marilyn Monroe’s Hair

Kim Kardashian made the news at the Met Gala as she was donning Marilyn Monroe’s golden gown. She walked the red carpet in the ensemble once worn by the late celebrity.

But, there has been a new discovery as Monroe’s historian Scott Fortner has come forward. He claims that when Kim visited Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum, she was given the fake locks of Marilyn’s golden hair. Not only this, but he also provided proof for his claims.

The owner of the website, TheMarilynMonroeCollection.com, Scott, questioned the authenticity of the historical keepsake Ripley’s provided Kardashian with. He took to Instagram and claimed, “News Alert: Marilyn Monroe Hair Gifted to Kardashian by Ripley’s is Fake.”

Scott also posted a screenshot of Kim’s hair that was found in her Met Gala dressing room. As per reports, the hair was allegedly cut from Marilyn’s head by Robert Champion before her performance for President John F. Kennedy.

The historian claimed that Kenneth Battelle had cut Marilyn’s hair and not Robert. He further provided proof of the same as he posted a receipt from the beauty parlor.

Kim was surprised when she was given locks of hair by the museum employee which were secured in a metal case. This video was posted by Ripley on Instagram and the same video was posted by Scott.

His post also included a screenshot from Ripley’s outlining the origins of the hair and as per Scott, a receipt from the hair salon that worked on Marilyn’s hair. Kim naturally felt so overwhelmed by the alleged locks of hair and she claimed it to be really “special”.

As per Ripley’s caption, “During @KimKardashian’s Met Gala dress fitting at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! HQ, our team surprised her with a silver box that contained an actual lock of Marilyn’s iconic platinum hair. The Ripley’s team also filled her Met Gala dressing room with a trove of Marilyn Monroe and JFK memorabilia to help inspire her look.”

According to a spokesperson from Ripley’s, the locks were genuine and not the same as the hair found in Kim’s dressing room. As per them, the strand was presented to Robert by Marilyn even if it was not trimmed by him. They also claimed that a hair collector specialist has confirmed the locks are from Marilyn’s hair.
