Hayley Atwell Shares What She Felt About Captain Carter’s Ending In Dr. Strange 2

Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness brought back many characters as a cameo. It introduced the audience to the concept of the Illuminati. The Illuminati consist of members like Reed Richards, Captain Carter, Bolt, Captain Marvel & Professor X. Hayley Atwell’s character Captain Carter is not a newly introduced character in the MCU.

As she was already introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger. She played the role of Peggy Carter, one of the agents of SHIELD & later on she becomes director of SHIELD along with Howard Stark. What If? series explored her possibility of becoming Captain Carter instead of Steve Rogers. She also reprised her role as Captain Carter in Multiverse of Madness but this character was not in the same universe as What If.

Captain Carter was brutally killed by Wanda Maximoff in Dr. Strange 2 film. Many fans were upset with the Illuminati being killed very easily by Wanda in seconds. Even Hayley Atwell thinks that her character storyline went on a different path than expected.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Hayley Atwell opened up about her character Captain Carter in Dr. Strange 2. It looks like it didn’t live up to her expectation as she feels there was definitely more to do with her character. Further, she spoke about how she felt playing the character once again after many years. Let’s have a look at what she said.

“It was definitely not, you know, the trajectory that I see for Peggy. I would definitely like her to have more to do.It’s so funny, because, you know, I did that 10 years ago, and I love her because I love the people, and you never know [if there could be more].
