Hawkeye Adds Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin In New Poster

Hawkeye Adds Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin In New Poster

Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin is featured among the cast of Hawkeye in an amazing fan-made poster. Jeremy Renner stars as Clint Barton in Marvel’s new Hawkeye series on Disney+; which is set in New York City after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld, is set to take over Hawkeye’s bow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the fifth Marvel TV show.

In Netflix’s Daredevil, D’Onofrio made his debut as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, playing the major adversary against Matt Murdock. Fisk was a well-known criminal boss who attempted to rebuild Hell’s Kitchen by unscrupulous methods; and D’Onofrio’s portrayal of him has become a fan favourite. Daredevil’s third season aired in 2018, bringing the interwoven Marvel and Netflix series to a close as Disney developed their own streaming service.

Following the launch of Hawkeye’s first two episodes, digital artist AGT Design posts a concept poster for the show on Instagram; which includes D’Onofrio’s Kingpin among the cast. The poster’s purple-toned background, which resembles a bullseye target in the same hue as the title logo, embodies New York City. Fisk appears to be just as vital to the programme as Lucky the One-Eyed Pizza Dog; based on his size and posture. Take a look at the incredible poster below:

Hawkeye’s concept poster encapsulates the hope that many fans have for D’Onofrio’s return as Fisk in the MCU. With the debut of Echo (Alaqua Cox) in Hawkeye and the subsequent Disney+ announcement of her spin-off series; fans are hoping for a return of D’Onofrio; as Echo is Fisk’s adopted daughter in the Marvel comics.

In the past, the actor has expressed a strong desire to reprise his role as the villain, as well as teased Marvel fans with cryptic tweets about Hawkeye. Furthermore, due to spoilers, Hawkeye executive producer Trinh Tran refused to acknowledge the rumoured arrival of Kingpin, leaving fans’ imaginations to run wild.

Whether or whether D’Onofrio returns to reprise his part; it is undeniable that his performance left a lasting impression on audiences. It’s still possible for anyone to appear in the MCU; despite other speculations swirling about the return of prior Marvel characters with the advent of the multiverse. Tim Roth recently reprised his role as Abomination in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings; and is set to star in the upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series.

For the time being, fans may relive D’Onofrio’s role as Fisk on Netflix’s Daredevil and anticipate the future episodes of Hawkeye on Disney+.
